The best way to determine the bike rack's contact points on the paintwork is to mount the bike rack. Mark the contact points with a pencil or masking tape, for example. Adjust the film with a utility knife if necessary.
The application should be done in a location protected from wind, dust, and direct sunlight. The ideal temperature for applying the film is between 15°C and 25°C (60°F and 75°F). Wash the vehicle surface where the film will be applied with detergent and water to remove dirt, grease, and wax. Use silicone remover, isopropanol, or alcohol for cleaning (do not use ethanol or petroleum ether). Dry the surface with a lint-free cotton cloth.
Mix approximately 1 liter of water with one teaspoon of commercial detergent in a spray bottle (with a fine mist nozzle).
To avoid fingerprints on the film, first spray your fingers with the water and detergent mixture and carefully peel the film off the backing paper. Spray the adhesive side and then the surface where you want to apply the film.
Position and align the film on the surface. Press the film down evenly and lightly. Using the squeegee, spread any excess liquid from the center outwards. Remove or absorb the liquid with a cotton cloth. It is recommended to use your fingers to wrap the film around one edge. If the film does not adhere immediately, you can gently warm it with a hairdryer.
After about 72 hours, the residual moisture has completely evaporated and final adhesion is achieved.
Tip: We recommend leaving the film on the paint for a maximum of two years. After that, it should be replaced.
