Sparco's Matrix competition seat has been developed to meet the latest FIA 8855-2021 approval, meaning it's super strong and safe, able to withstand side impacts of up to 42g. The enclosed, wraparound headrests offer improved side-impact head protection, but also allow the Matrix seat to fit into tighter spaces, such as GT car cockpits.

FIA approval 8855-2021 (10 years of homologation)
The Matrix seat is constructed from fiberglass and utilizes a unique honeycomb matrix manufacturing technique that allows the seat to exceed the strength and safety of a carbon fiber seat, only at a lower price. The seat has a unique semi-translucent back panel that allows the matrix technology to be seen. Impact-absorbing foam is used around the headrest areas to reduce the risk of injury, and non-slip fabric on the shoulders helps restrain the upper body. A deep base along with tall side bolsters provide excellent lateral support while keeping the occupants' legs completely within the confines of the seat frame for added side impact protection.
The Sparco Matrix seat is compatible with all FHR (HANS) and hybrid devices, as well as any harness configuration. It is ideal for most motorsport disciplines, including GT or rally cars with restricted internal space. The seat must be used with the correct side supports for FIA approval.
